So according to the Direct Loan Consolidation site they estimate the whole process to take between 60-90 days to complete. Im gonna be starting the process ASAP after graduation on May23rd and was wondering how quickly other people have gone through the process? Im trying to close on a house but i need to consolidate and place my loans into forebearance prior so im trying to guestimate my time frames.

You may want to check with your lenders to see if you can consolidate immediately after graduation or if you would have to wait out the grace period.

My consolidation took about 60 days to complete once I submitted the application. It then took another two months to get on the right payment plan.

Then I decided to forbear my consolidation, and that took just a week to complete (online application, approval was almost instantanious (sp)
