So I'm graduating this May and I have been applying for research assistant/technician positions at hospitals and universities since about late February and I've still heard nothing back. Based on their minimum and preferred qualifications, I fit their profile (doing western blots, reading papers, conducting experiments, etc.) but still, I haven't even gotten an interview call. Is there anything I should be doing that I'm not doing? Or is this how long it normally takes to hear back from them?

Are the positions still listed? Hiring can take a ridiculously long time if everyone involved isn't motivated and on top of things.

I've found that a lot of these jobs can be weirdly political. Do you know anyone (professors, doctors you've shadowed, etc.) who works at these places and could "ask about your status"? Although it can feel icky, sometimes networking is the best way to do these types of things

I would keep looking for other jobs. For most research positions I applied to, if I didn’t get an interview within the first 1-2 months of submitting my application/resume, it almost always ended up in being rejected or ghosted. Had a lot of research experience when I applied but still never heard back from most places I applied to. If you’re not hearing back it could be a number of reasons—the jobs being filled already and people just forgetting to remove the listing, a better matched candidate in terms of experience, your resume, your cover letter, etc.

Well I'm currently in CT looking to move back to New York City so I've mostly been applying there. So like Columbia U, Weill Cornell, Rockefeller and even NYU Langone where I worked as a child life volunteer before. For about half of the positions I've applied to, the position has already been filled, otherwise, they've just been pending for a long while. I've still been applying for more but IDK, I'm just worried at this point.
