I had a postdoc interview for a state position in the prisons over three weeks ago. It is now november and the postdoc is supposed to start in november. I have not heard anything back from them as of yet whether it is a yes or no. I did send a thank you email a few days after the interview. But was hoping to at least get some answer by now. This is my first choice and I dont want to come off too eager or needy but I don't want to accept other offers if this one is willing.
How long to wait after an interview before inquiring about the job?

I'm guessing they didn't list a specific notification deadline? Personally, I'd say that if the start date is in the first half of November, I would go ahead and send them a brief inquiry email. If the start date is sometime at the end of November, I might give them one more week (at most) be inquiring. But that's just me.
