im becoming a 3rd year at uc berkeley. so far i got ~2.8 cum.

the break down is:
3 A-'s
1 B+
2 B's
1 B-
5 C+'s
1 C-

i wanted to retake the C's but the university does not allow me to.

also, i am a URM (mexican american), and have almost no research. I have some volunteer exerience, and shadowed.

I have taken a practice MCAT (3r), scored a 29. i plan on taking the real thing on april 2006. so one year from now.

i am 19 yrs old, and have 2 more years of undergrad left. i have lots of time to apply and i have searched many forums already and know that it is still possible to get into medical school but i was wondering if i was looking at a SMP/MASTERs? is it too late to avoid doing a post- bacc?

my main concern is how long would it take me to have a decent shot at a allopathic OR osteopathic medical school 🙂 ? what about carribean schools 🙁 ? what would i have to go through? any ideas to help me? thanks 😀

also my science grades are

orgo chem C+
orgo chem lab A-
MCB C+
gen chem C+
physics C+
physics II C+

i had orgo and mcb and physics while my grandmother passed away and my cousin as well
but those are my grades nontheless

looks like you have a lot of prereqs left to go... What about the rest of your undergrad? To figure an accurate trendline, you need to factor how many credits you already have because GPA is an "average". MCAT score looks nice, but the real deal may be a different thing. Another thing you have going for you is your age. You are very young and have time to build research, clinical experience, and take other classes to expand your horizons. Your "shot" at med school will be based on much more than the few scores you listed above. Take a step back... look at the big picture...

And Good Luck :luck:
