How long?

Quick question, and I know this is only the begining of the waiting process, but how long does it take for AMCAS to send you confirmation that they recieved your transcripts once you send them?

I send mine last Thurday and still no email. I know they were sent because they arrived at TMDSAS already, but no word from AMCAS. I imagine they have a lot more to deal with, but how long did it take for them to acknowledge that the received yours?

Granted I went through it last year, but June/July is peak time for AMCAS. They receive tons of transcripts. I called at one point (it's not toll free) and waiting in queue on the phone for nearly an hour before speaking to someone who explained to me that they get so many transcripts that the mail basically backs up. Obviously, the mail doesn't take weeks. But it may take AMCAS 2-3 weeks before they actually open, process, and send you a confirmation because while they have physically received your transcripts, they won't even know it for weeks because they have so many others waiting to be opened, processed, confirmations sent, etc. It sucks but that's the way it works. Hopefully it will only take a couple of weeks. Good luck!
