is there one for summer fall and spring? or just one total? what if i need to send transcripts of summer do i have to wait till the spring?
thanks

You submit once when the application opens...and academic update is open once in the 'winter/early spring'..approximately January-February..so yes, if you're taking a class in the summer and you submit pharmcas before your grade is in then you will be waiting until January to input it. You can put your schedules for which courses are 'in progress' though for the schools to see. After the academic update, then anything you need to send goes to the school you are planning to attend.

Also, instead of waiting for the "academic update" on PharmCAS to open, it is a good idea to notify the schools you are applying to of your Summer grades by emailing them. This is especially true of prerequisite courses taken during the Summer.

Thanks

Couple more questions,
1. let's say for example I apply to a school in summer and if I get rejected, I take more courses in summer and in fall and then submit my grades during academic update in spring to increase my gpa, am I still rejected from those previous schools or will they reconsider me?
2. During academic update can I add new courses or must they have been added previously as "in progress/planned"?

Thanks

1. Once you are rejected by a school there is nothing you can do because their decision is absolutely final. Strategically, I am not sure if it is better to apply early with a subpar GPA or wait to apply until Fall grades come out (assuming you do very well in the Fall).
2. Not sure about this one.

Yes, they only make 1 admissions decision on you for the application cycle. I would say applying early is still better..unless you are below the school's stated cut-off (lower than 2.5, 2.75, or 3.0..whatever they have said) you probably will not receive an outright rejection in the summer.. In many cases, they kind of keep you in the pool for later interview dates until it becomes apparent that you won't be getting an interview there. Also, applying after Fall grades are out (late Dec) is after the deadline for many schools.
