Hello everyone,

I know that there are some threads in the previous years similar to my question, but I want to open up a recent and more informative thread about this discussion. To those who have been accepted to a Canadian or US DO/MD school, can you please answer these questions:

- What was your GPA/MCAT score? If it varied in different application cycles please note that as well if possible.

- How many years/times did you apply before getting accepted?

- Are you in a DO or MD school?


It would great to hear your input. There are many students each year struggling and becoming hopeless due to continuously being rejected.

Also, your questions are the basis of the site mdapplicants.com which has far more data than you could ever hope to get from a thread on SDN. I would suggest spending time on that site, it should give you everything you're looking for and far more.

Thanks for that website, it was very helpful. I believe the students self-recorded those stats am I right, because some of them were odd such as GPA of 1.00 :s

But, it didn't provide me information as to how many times they applied before getting accepted. With a given GPA/MCAT score, how many times did you apply until getting accepted to either US/Canadian MD/DO school?

If you're looking to chance yourself there is a helpful sticky on the what are my chances subsection that has graphs you can look at. It's MD only though, and it doesn't include the number of tries it took to get in.

To answer your question about mdapps, yes it is self reported. A lot of people set them to random numbers to keep anonymity during the cycle and return to change it later. Some people plain old never update it. Just be smart when viewing it, and you should figure things out.
