Hello,

I am a post-bacc who has the following LORs planned/ obtained. I wondered, though, how many clinical LORs I should get given the following:

post-bacc science: 4
undergrad major: 1
job-related (non-medical): 2
clinical: 2--free clinic and research
other activity (non pre-med): 2

I have other clinical LORs I could get but if you guys think this is enough then I won't.

Thanks,

Tofurkey

Whoah! I think most people use FOUR!

I'm getting more LORs than I need so that my pre-med committee can choose the best ones to include--plus, they told me that as a non-trad it helps to have more LORs than someone straight from undergrad (I need to represent my previous careers, etc.)

But I'd like to know specifically about the clinical LORs--is 2 enough or should I ask for 3-4?

Thanks,

T

3-4 is not enough, I'd say get 6. I personally had 10.

Your pre-med committee lets you ask for a bazillion and then they will pick the best 4? May I ask what program this is?

I'm confused. How many LORs in each category and total does the average pre-med from undergrad have?

I was told by my pre-med committee that I should get around 10 if I want and they'll choose the best ones to put in my letter, but they're also not limited to just using 4--in other words, if all 10 are good, they'll put all 10 in.

They also told me for non-trads who have previous careers to get a few from those so that automatically makes us have more LORs than usual.
