Hi, I'm a psychology undergraduate hoping to be admitted into graduate school sometime in the year 2011. I'm hoping for a PhD in a clinial psychology program, preferably one with a neuropsychology concentration.

Anyway, I'm wondering how many graduate schools would I need to apply to before I can consider myself "safe" in terms of how sure I am that I will get in to at least one. My GPA at the institution I trasnferred from was 3.78, but my GPA at the instiution I'm at now is a 4.0 and so is my psychology GPA (GPA for only psychology courses) 😀. I'm also in an honors program, so I'm hoping that 8-10 different graduate programs will be enough.

8-10 should be fine as long as they are all good matches. I think the average that I read was about 12-15. I will also be applying fall of 2010 and I will be applying to about 16 assuming that the professors are all accepting students. To reiterate the above post, it is never 100% that one of your programs will accept you. That is why finding good matches and applying to safety schools is important.
