How many hours a day do you study?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i am glad that 10~12 hours got the majority of votes, cuz someone was saying that 10 hours of my studying schedule was ridiculous 🙂

guess it depends on who you are, how much studying you can take at once, and how much time you have until the exam. It probably wouldn't make sense for someone who is taking the exam in a month and a half and who can't seem to focus for longer than 5 or 6 hours at a time (like me 🙄 ) to study 10-12 hours, whereas it wouldn't make sense for someone who has less time and can study more efficiently for longer periods of time to limit themselves to 5-6 hours. Whatever works for you i guess, as long as your scores are going up and you get what you want out of the exam.

Good luck to you all!

Lets see here.. I wake up at 6 am, study until 7, eat breakfast until 7:15, then study until 12, take a 20 minute lunch, meditate for 10 minutes, then go from 12:30 to 6, eat dinner, go from 6:20 until midnight. Then I shower while listening to audio osmosis, go to bed listening to audio osmosis, and wake up to it as well. I have no life, I need a girlfriend
😳

How come there is no option for 24 hours a day? What about people that don't sleep?

8-10hrs is realistic cause after 10hrs, everything is a huge blur, unless ur medicated pretty good for 24/7 🙂.......knew somebody who was druged and didn't sleep for 24/7 ........well one word BAD!!!! ......."rest and digest" we should follow our parasympathetic system hm??? or is it sympathetic?.........anyways.....good luck to u outthere GET SOME SLEEP PEOPLE AND U'LL DO WAY BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!

I suppose i could say 12 hours a day. But i only started studying about 10 days ago and I want to take the test asap. I figure I can study a few hours, Take a practice test and then review what i got wrong. Although its been messing with my sleep schedule, its so random to sleep at 2 in the afternoon.

due to my school and work schedule , i do about 7-8 hrs of study each day...sometimes 10 on the weekends!! .. sometimes i feel like destroying the books .. +pissed+

 Audio osmosis was the best 😀

My Summer DAT studying schedule:
Go to work 8-6pm. Eat and relax, take a shower 7-7:30pm or so. Walk my dog while listening to audio osmosis.
Study until midnight or so.
Then I quit my job as a dental assistant and studied from 9am-1am.
Now, I cant believe Im done and Im going shopping...Oh how I love the Mall...I forgot about that great feeling of shopping, shopping...It's good to know life continues after the f%$#%&^* DAT

Wow. 10-14 hours, that is a lot.

When I took the DAT I was still in school with a full load of courses, so about 2 months out I studied about 1 or 2 hours every other day when I had time. I pretty much started studying 3 weeks away from the exam at about 3/4 hours a day. I was pleased with my score, and got accepted to my top choice school 😀

.You make me happy to hear that. I was about to sarcastically and sardonically write that I’ve been studying 12+ hours a day for the past few months just to make certain people feel bad about themselves. I take the test next Tuesday and have been studying here and there for a few months but have recently picked up my effort within the last few weeks (Xmas break). Feel confident that I will be ready in time. For those of you who find it necessary to spend more than half the day studying, might I recommend better time management sills, hobbies, a girlfriend, boyfriend, or significant other..

I just took it.
I studied for 1 month, 2-4 hours per day. I used the Kaplan book and Barron's (ignore the mistakes). I spent about 70$ on material. Bio=19, chem=19, org=23, qr=22, reading=20, Pat=21, and AA=21.
I didn't study on Sundays: God and football are more important.

Not the greatest scores, but pretty good for the amount of time and money i put into this.
