I shadowed for about 5 hrs usually. try to arrange day when there are different/unique procedures scheduled. a day with te's, rct's, and crowns/bridge would alot more exciting than 8 fills.

You might want to discuss this with the person you will be shadowing. He/she can probably be your best source for advice.
