Sleep? What's that? No, I'm just kidding. I wake up at 0345, because I study better in the morning. I study before I go to class. Once I'm back from school, I take an hour nap, work out for another hour, have dinner, study a bit more and go to bed at 10pm. So I always get 6 hours of sleep. I can't function if I'm not well-rested and I'm inmune to caffeine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No matter how much coffee or caffeine energy drinks I have, they don't keep me awake. So, I have to organize my time to sleep as many hours as I need to be able to study properly. Time management is a key to everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It really depends on whether we have a test or not, but I am REALLY useless if I don't have sufficient sleep. I normally go to bed around 11:30 and get up at 6:45-7. On test days, I usually stay up until about 12-1, sleep until 5ish, and then get up to do a final study session.

Now that I started Trauma Surgery, and are on nights, I sleep about 2-3 hours in the early morning, an hour in the afternoon, and maybe an hour during my shift.

Q, DO

I try to get 6 hrs a night. A few more on the weekends, but unless I'm very tired, I can't stay asleep past 8 or 9am 🙁

work hard, sleep hard...

If you want to sleep, you study hard during the day and afternoon, if you want to slack, expect no sleep. It is definitely a choice though.

I've chosen to guarentee myself 6 hrs. This means my 4-6 hrs (2-4 before dinner, 3-4 after) of studying a day better be damn good if I want to get to bed by midnight and be up around 6ish.

Do what you have to, to make sure you get what you need...

I would say 6.5 or so. I usually go to bed 12:30 ish and get up at 7

I would say that on average, people get 6hrs of sleep per night on school nights w/o tests. It depends on how well you balance your schedule and what you are willing to give up i.e. hanging out with friends on weekdays.

I normally go to sleep around 11pm wake up by 7am and make a 1.5hr commute in time for my 9am class, so that gives me about 8hrs of sleep daily. I get to school by 9am the latest and leave the school about 8pm, eat dinner and then go to bed. So I basically study for about 5hrs per day but on fridays I don't study and relax with friends and such. On the weekends, I would try to study during the early afternoon till evening time and then go out with friends again. So for me, I like my schedule because its a fair balance between entertainment and education and I get 8hrs of sleep per day.

anywhere from 4-7 hours/night

oh, except for last night....i decided to take most of the day off of class.....so i slept in until noon!!!! SWEET !!!!

6-8 hours/ nite. If I go under 6 I'm worthless in lecture b/c I will probably end up battling sleep through most of it.

seems like the avg is around 6-7, which is great news 🙂

i was thinking school would make u get less sleep.

About 5.5 for years 1-2.

Now that I am in year 3 about 6.5 (so far I've only been on call for a rotation once, and that wasn't even the whole night, only until 11:00  )

I'm only in undergrad and I'm already only sleeping 4-5 hours a night. To think I may not get in because I haven't volunteered in a hospital enough. 🙄

If they only knew how much time my current activities really suck up...

Insomnia by night,

Narcolepsy by day.

4 hours

I get 8 hours...I don't know how, but I just cram each weekend. I do this to make sure I stay awake during each lecture. Otherwise, I'd be sleeping all day and have to work harder at night to learn everything.

I am usually in bed by like 1am and up at 7am
