I’m planning on 18 hours a week for about 350 hours over a span of 4 months. Not sure if I should do more though. How many do you anticipate or did if you already took the exam?

I would start by dropping the notion that there are a set number of hours required to prepare for this exam. Everyone is different, so there is absolutely no way to answer your generic question. Do 1000 passages and then you'll be ready. Thoroughly go over every question you miss and/or are uncertain of and then you'll be ready. Do enough practice FLs from good sources and then you'll be ready. Know conceptual material fairly well and be excellent at solving multiple-choice questions about its applications to many different systems, then you'll be ready.

Good luck!

Check my old write-ups for what I did. Basically, a month of review busting through the EC books and creating very small and condensed outline books. Then, everyday, I reviewed everything I wrote. Eventually, the studying builds up and by the end, to read through the outlines takes a couple minutes.

Then two months of strict practice. Nothing but questions. And practice tests.
