I applied for a volunteer position at Shoppers Drug Mart.

They want to know how many hours I want to volunteer for per day, and how often I want to volunteer for. I'll be letting them know my response in two days. What is the typical number of hours a pharmacy volunteer volunteers for? And how often?

I will be calling the manager to ask what I should wear, but if anybody knows it, let me know. (Is it a good idea to ask?)

Shouldn't you be able to determine how many hours and how many days a week you have left over with the other things that are going on in your life?

I'm dedicating this summer to improve my pharmacy application through volunteer work, working, studying, etc.

Aim for a nice big round number like 100, 200, 300, so your recommender can say that you volunteered "over 200 hrs" or whatever. Make sure you get a recommendation out of this.

Thanks for your response, kirbypuff!

I'm having troubles contacting the pharmacy manager.

Does anyone know what volunteers typically wear for retail pharmacy's? I'll be volunteering for Shoppers Drug Mart's Pharmacy.

I think the best thing to do is just ask the manager. They may give you a polo to wear.

I'm a girl and I wore khakis or black pants with polos or pretty button up shirts. Sometimes longer skirts. You want to avoid jeans and t-shirts and being untidy.

The plural of pharmacy is pharmacies.

Anyway...

At the hospital, I have an ugly seafoam green "scrubs" outfit I have the pleasure of wearing... At my indy pharmacy, it's pretty much up to me as long as I'm clean and present a professional image for the pharmacy.

Passion... professional 😕

Ha

The amount of hours you volunteer will vary based upon your ability to do volunteer work. If you have a family of 4 and you are the only bread winner - the amount of volunteer you can complete is a lot less than the 21 yr old with no job or classes during the summer.

Look at your schedule - start at the lower end of the spectrum - then increase your time as your schedule permits.
