Hmmm... I'm at 14 now with 3 of the schools on your list. I don't think it's possible to get over 10 interviews at top 10 schools. 🙂

In all seriousness, I am very grateful and wanted to know if anyone had any advice on how to "seal the deal?" I would feel pretty bad if I went to 14 interviews with no result. I have been on 4 so far, and seem to have done a good job of staying calm. I practiced a lot of the old interview questions, but really prepared more a list of "talking points" than rehearsed speeches so that I don't seem canned. Any advice?

If you've been on four interviews, don't you know what you are doing by now?

I wonder for people who have more than 10 interviews whether the list goes like this:

JHU - didnt apply
Harvard - didnt apply
Baylor - didnt applying
Washington U - didnt apply
UPenn - didnt apply (yet)
UPitt - interview
Brown - not yet complete (sent it like 10 days ago)
Duke - interview
Cornell - complete
Northwestern - complete?
Mayo - rejected
UCSF - complete

i can only imagine

honestly half of those schools are non-rolling or whatever. id rather just find out (id be thankful to) by oct 15 anywhere and be done with my year, does not matter where

I hear ya.

I have 4 interviews, all scheduled before Oct 15. Two of them are rolling and will begin notifications on Oct 15. If I get accepted at either school, I am canceling ALL the rest of my interviews (assuming I have any others at that time), and I will wait until I hear from all 4 of my interviews to pick a winner (assuming I have more than one acceptance from this bunch).

One, and I am done. If I am not finished by October 15, I will keep moving forward, but once I get one, I am done.

Screw this process.

So....i have actually quite a few interviews too (7-10 category) BUT... again, keep in mind for the people with much fewer: I'm sure plenty of people applied to lotsa safety schools and so are getting more interviews. Also depends on when u were complete. Also depends on ur state residency.... too many factors.... that said, im sure theres those people on the forums with hopkins/harvard/stanford/mayo/ucsf/etc etc....but we dont talk to those people -_-

3.6ish for both GPA's, 32Q. Decent experience and EC's.

Dude your case is baffling. Did you apply kinda late?

I have a whopping one, w/ a 3.9 31S. But I'm okay with this, because at least someone is interested in me.

As long as there's something reasonably interesting about your application that will make schools want to meet you, I'm sure they will come. Even if you have a 32/3.6 with the most run of the mill "emergency room volunteer" and "shadowing," I think you should get some also.

Just make sure you applied to enough schools and that they are reasonably broad in both selectivity and geography.

I submitted AMCAS July 24th, Verified mid-August. Most secondaries were in mid-late August... Is that considered late?

I think not late, but normal. I was verified July 2 and submitted secondaries as soon as they came out, which might be why I have heard back sooner.

How many schools did you apply to?

Not really late, but certainly not early, so it is maybe asking a bit much to have interviews in hand in early September.

Take a deep breath - this is all just starting, not ending.

I'm amazed by the people who already have 4+ interviews.....jesus. But maybe once people start getting acceptances around October 15th, they will stop attending all their interviews, and it'll give others a chance 😀

That may be it.. I guess SDN makes me feel like 'normal' is super late.

I've submitted secondaries to 16 so far. I plan on getting in 2-5 more. All I've heard back has been a rejection from BU.

I think they'll come in the next month. Make sure you applied to your state schools. 🙂

3 so far. 1 of which I am really not all that interested in. Cmon Wake, show me a little love and send me the invite I want! 😍 I retook the MCAT for you!

5 here. I felt pretty good about that until I came to this thread, haha.

Come on, Mount Sinai! We were meant to be together!

None yet...committee letter wasn't sent in till a couple weeks ago so I'm hoping that's why...

11, but I really tried to apply early, can't afford to do interviews in Jan. Good luck to all.

This is from someone who posted earlier. Pretty amazing. Congrats!

wow! she's amazing! good for her!

I just want ONE!!!!!

I get you as I also have none but just chill, we're fine. We're not late. You can freak out in about a month or so. Everything is going to be fine! Just appreciate that we have extra time to prepare for interviews and breathe! =)

10. But I'm a re-applicant and last year I had 1 measly interview, and it was in March. Just goes to show what you a little time and effort can do folks.

i just got my 11th half an hour ago, but yet to go on any though. hella excited to start interviewing.

you guys are all awesome! congrats on getting interviews 👍

isn't it crazy to think that in about a month, people will start getting acceptances? :scared: sdn will become 10x more neurotic

I really don't believe someone would have 22 interviews. Seriously.

Are you serious? So many interviews already? I haven't gotten any and my apps have been in for at least 3 weeks. How long did you guys wait before being contacted?

that's the most variable part of this process. i had a couple of schools where complete --> interview invite was only 2 or 3 weeks, and some where it was more than two months. and god willing there will be more that have taken even longer (my last app was in by july 28).

cowboy allen, how many schools did you apply to? thats a long list

Well, if you're interested there's a lot of reasons. IF I do get in...

1. I want some diversity in my acceptances. I'm not sure where I'd want to live yet, and I haven't researched thoroughly into how well each school has matched historically.

2. I feel like applying broadly gives me the best chance of some merit-scholarship, if I can get it. Granted, I may not, but it's worth a shot.

Flame away...

nah theres no flaming

merit scholarship >>>> the cost of applying anyday, i understand

i just wanted to know the number its impressive
