I realize that most interviews are between 30-45 minutes, but how many questions is this typically?
Of course it depends on the length of one's responses but is there a set of questions that the interviewer must get through? If so, does anyone know how many questions this is?

Also how much speaking does the interviewer do during the interview? (I realize this is dependent on the interviewer)

depends on school and the interviewer...

i just had an interview that was ~45 minutes long and he asked 8 questions. the rest of the time we talked about dwyane wade, chris bosh, and lbj.

Slightly confused when I thought you meant Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, and Lyndon B. Johnson 😳

not sure if you've checked out the interview feedback forum but here you go 🙂: http://www.studentdoctor.net/schools/

from one of my interview experiences, i didn't feel like getting questions but more like "wanting to get to know" conversation. so i kind of felt like getting questions in a flow. but some other interviewers are different. they do read a set of questions, and it feels like Q&A feedback type of thing. in that kind of situation, i don't think anyone keeps track of how many questions they are being questioned because of being nervous, stressed, or anxious to answer each question as best as one possibly can.

the length of how long the interviewer talks does depend on him/her. best advice is to keep the conversation length between you and the interviewer the same. you shouldn't let the interviewer do all the talking. the interview is for you to express yourself what you couldn't through your application (mcat, grades, personal statement, etc.)

This is just my own experience, but I guess they typically ask about 10 questions or so, not counting things like " could you tell me more?", or "how did that affect you?". They'll have to ask at least 5, but I don't think they could ask more than 20 if they want to actually listen to your responses. Why medicine? and Why this school? seem to take about 5 minutes each.

From what I can tell most schools do not have some magical "list of required questions for applicant".

As far as how much speaking, most will split it about 40/60 them/you, but some let you do 90% of the talking, and one of my interviewers did 70% of the talking, which annoyed me a little bit because I felt I couldn't really tell him about myself.

They usually allow me to ask 3-5 questions.
