Hey Guys,

I just submitted my aacom application and plan on having all my secondaries completed as soon as they come in. I applied to 15 schools. when do you guys think i should start receiving interviews, and how many schools do you think will interview me? (rough estimate)oh btw

my stats

science and overall 3.5
mcat 25M

please help, i'd greatly appreciate it.

yeah my writing wasn't so hot , 10P 6V 9B

I had similar stats 25L (PS:11, VR:5, BS:9) with a 3.3 overall and around 3.8 science with nothing to spectacular for EC's. Anyways, I completed 11 secondaries and have thus far received 7 interviews, so I would expect you will receive plenty of interviews as well, maybe 6-10 or so. I think that is important to make sure that you return good secondaries. Meaning that you should do research on the school and put some time it. It will show them that you can write. I think that is a big reason I received a fair amount of interviews.

You're in decent shape. Your writing score doesn't matter. I got an L in writing the first time around, then an M the second time. I received 3 interviews and 3 acceptances with the low writing score.

The only thing I would be concerned with is the low verbal score. Although, with 15 applications going out, you will be receiving interviews I'm sure. Your GPA is around the average as well, so that's good to go.

I'd say since you just submitted your application, expect it to be processed in 5-6 weeks. You should receive secondaries with two weeks after your application is processed. Following the submission of your secondaries, I would say interview invites should come in within 4 weeks, but that time period could vary depending on how busy the schools are.

Thanks everyone so much for your responses. 5-6 weeks for processing???!!! Jeez do they have 100 year old ladies working at aacomas or what, i hope it doesn't take that long!!
yeah patho, i'm worreid about my verbal score too. i'm just hoping to get around 6 or 7 interviews, and be able to choose from 2 or 3 schools

Mine took about 3 weeks to process..I think it just depends on how many other people are submitting around that time. It might take a little longer now since the august scores were just released, but 5-6 weeks is probably the maximum.

Docmd2010,

I have been accepted to KCUMB this year with exactly the same MCAT score. My GPA was alittle higher 3.76 but the same MCAT breakdown. You've got a chance.

I don't think they take too many out of state applicants, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. You have to remember too though their tuition for out of state students are over $40,000.

MSU's OOS tuition is about $47K/yr. Tuition alone, no books, no expenses, no equipment. You'd need to borrow more than $70K to survive for the year. I just couldnt' stomach it - that's why I turned down the interview when I got an acceptance to another school.
