I have the basic ones I am required by the schools to have (professors, dentist), but I had several additional people offer to write me LOR's that I believe will be very, very strong. I'm not sure how to pick out of those ones. Is one extra okay? Does it become overkill sending two extra letters? Three? Twenty? lol just kidding, but seriously how many is too many?

Thank you!

Adcoms are busy people, they have enough on their plate already. Extra letters won't make a dent during their first look at your application. Only a well rounded application or something in your app that catches their eye, will.

Save extra letters to be used in the event that you are on a waitlist and/or need to send a letter of intent.

Most selective colleges and universities require one to three recommendation.
