how many recs did u send in? also what do u all think about sending in a LOR from an M.D. as one of the "extra" recs? did any of you do that? do you think adcomms give any weight to LORs from docs as they are in a position to potentially see you (or not see you) as a doctor?

Whatever you do, send no more than the number requested. Don't show them that from the start, you can't follow directions.

And it really doesn't help to have a LOR from a doctor UNLESS you have very strong experience with the doctor. If you worked with one, spent a lot of time volunteering with one, etc. then it might be useful. But do not send a letter from a doc just because it's from a doc. That is a waste of their time to read.

All the letters should be equally important in highlighting what a strong applicant you are in some capacity...generally with concrete examples.
