For the more numbers-oriented (read geeky) SDNers among us, how many of the 14-15000 odd seats do you think are left unfilled at this stage?

Keep in mind that many of the folks who've gotten acceptances this early have probably got more than 1 acceptance and are holding on to multiple seats.

Propeller-heads....... on your marks, get set, go!

I'll guess about 6000 seats left, plus or minus 3000.

I would guess less than 40% of the seats are unfilled.

about 430 SDNers have an acceptance somewhere, if you count the most recent acceptance post and don't count people with multiple acceptances more than once. so how representative of the applicant pool are SDN posters?

Holy crap. Did you actually memorize that many decimal digits of pi and then use them with a non-three pre-decimal number? That is most excellent. I only know this because I, too, have memorized silly numbers of digits of pi.

Cheers my friend, we are a rare breed.

Finally a post that I can follow through on lol.

Ok - so I think we all know that the average SNDer MCAT scores were quite higher than the national average. I know there's a thread out there somewhere that lists everyone's MCATs, but I would guess an average MCAT of 29-30.

This probably implies that SDNers are in the top 30% on average.

Wouldn't we also need to know the total number of SDNers (with or without acceptances) in order to make some meaning of the 430 figure?

This is where I stop, and hopefully others continue 🙂

*oh Lord, please help us refrain from an acceptance/no acceptance poll.*

FOOLS! ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!! Don't you know the answer is always 42?! (I'm sure only the bona fide geeks will get this one.) 😛

Does it really matter all your speculating, anyone here can venture a guess about how many seats are left. There is no way to know and why worry unless you applied to every single school it doesn't really matter.

Actually it doesn't matter if you worry or not by now. The best thing you can do now is write Letters or interest/intent and then sit back and enjoy the last semester of undergrad for those of you in undergrad. If you feel like you want to take the MCAT again then start to study for it but again why worry about things that are out of your control unless you know how to blackmail someone who can get you into the school.

Sometimes you all astound me about being so paranoid about getting in, yes everyone here wants to get in somewhere but hey if you don't make it then become a lawyer, almost anyone can (I mean have you seen some of those they let into law school) and then you can go ahead and become a ambulance chaser suing physicians because your angry at them due to the fact that they got into school somewhere and you did not.

You've given this a lot of thought, haven't you ? Hey, we all have backup plans

Whoa... chill buddy... breathe in, breathe out. Everybody's been cool 'cept for you! Sure the OP's question was unanswerable, but join the conversation that's arisen.
Take 'er easy.

I heard from an inside source (you see, my dad's brother golf partner's wife's sister is the surgeon general and he knows all) that there is ONLY ONE SEAT LEFT. And unfortunately that seat is going to go to a half native american, half african american woman from an impoverished neighborhood with a 41 MCAT and 3.98 science GPA.

Better luck next year.
