How many passages per day?

I'm looking at TPR's Science Workbook (2011), and there's 60 passages for Physics, 91 for Chemistry & 43 for Organic Chemistry.

I have no idea how I can get through these in time (taking the MCAT next month!). Is doing more than 15 passages a day unreasonable?

No it is not unreasonable. The new MCAT will have 9 passages for CARS and 10 passages for the other three sections, each. That's 39 passages in total. So build your stamina and good luck

I wasn't working or in school for the 5 weeks leading up to the test, and I was able to do 15-25 passages a day. The work book was a great resource.

15 or more passages per day is definitely reasonable, BUT make sure you're devoting enough time to analysis. I've seen so many students focus on sheer "number" of passages that they neglect important aspects of the review, such as going over EVERY question including the ones you get right. TPR's science workbook is good at including other scientific "tidbits" in the explanations that you might not have used to get your answer, but could be helpful in the future.

Yeah I'm curious about this too.

And oddly enough, when I stopped trying to do 10-20 passages daily alongside 3.5 hours of content review my practice test scores started to go a lot higher once I focused more on content and had "lighter" overall days than I had in the past. I think it really varies from person by person. I use Khan Academy for their discrete questions sometimes (the ones before certain sections etc).

I like KA passages lot more than the TPRH SW (I have the old one) because doing the KA passages feels like a good content review while also getting practice in experimental design/research based questions like evaluating validity, reliability, confounding variables, and drawing conclusions from results. TPRH passages are good only for content review imo.
