Hello everyone,

I know almost all med students need loans, whether for total COA or all of it. I'm just curious how many medical students are receiving help from parents just for cost of living, whether it's some or all of cost of living. I've definitely seen students with living situations that loans can't cover, who must be getting some help, whether it's from parents, or money saved while working during a gap year.

I'm just curious. How common is it?

Thanks,

MSAR has the financial aid info. It'll probably be closer to the difference b/w that number and 100%

It says " percentage receiving aid"
But does that mean financial aid or just the loans that almost everyone takes out? Like someone taking out loans for tuition but getting help from parents for COL may still qualify as " aid" because it may refer to federal loans?
