If I score an interview for a PSTP spot, how likely is it that I'll end up there if I rank them #1? Most programs interview at a 10:1 ratio for categorical programs. Wondering if anyone has any insight into what that ratio looks for research tracks.

Real answer is nobody knows. Be that as it may, there are so many factors you didn't mention at all:

Are we talking about IM or neuro or something else? What kind of program? Are you a good applicant/fit? Have good track record of independent grant-funding? How committed to research are you? etc. etc.

Also, are you MD-PhD? If so, nice to meet you, brother

Like all things, it depends. UCLA states they interview 25-30 people for 2 spots; others are more the 10:1 ratio.

Edit: Speaking from an IM perspective; currently applying as an MD/PhD.

Thanks guys. Applying to Peds PSTP as MD/PhD. I have average scores but pretty good publication track record including grant-funding. Do you guys know how many interviews most MD/PhD PSTP applicants attend?
