Hello, my undergrad (UC Davis) is on a quarter system and offers two different biochemistry options. One is a 2 quarter sequence (3 units each, 6 units total) intended for chemistry majors the other is an introductory biochemistry class (3 units) intended for all other science majors. While I would kind of prefer to take the 3 unit class simply because it would be easier to schedule, what would you recommend?

(For reference the description of the introductory biochem class is as follows
  • Fundamentals of biochemical processes, with emphasis on protein structure and activity; energy metabolism; catabolism of sugars, amino acids, and lipids; and gluconeogenesis.)
If it matters I already have 20 semester units of chemistry (10 units of Gen Chem, 10 Organic Chem) and will take a separate genetics class.

I was on the quarter system and only took the 1 quarter of biochem. it has satisfied every medical school that I have applied to except for SLU in Florida, which requires 2 quarters of biochem.
