How many retakes?

I did a quick search and didn't find anything recent. Was wondering if anyone cared to share how many retakes they took, whether they were core courses, and how it impacted their application/admittance? Looking for anecdotes re: course retakes and successful application.

Retook 14 courses sadly enough! Though, I had a 36 MCAT, so not sure how much of an impact it had. Also, had a strong upward trend for several years and tons of paid, clinical experience as an ED tech. So, not sure how much of an impact the retakes had. Was never asked about it in interviews either.

I think I saw you note this is a thread that turned up in my search results on this topic. It sounds like you had plenty of attributes that were probably beneficial in convincing adcoms that this was a path you were committed to and had the ability to do. I figured this number of retakes likely wasn't the norm - congratulations on getting in. 🙂

Ehh the norm is prob more like 1-3 retakes. Tough to say though.
