4 schools. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Madison, & UIUC. Wait listed at Glasgow, waiting for a response from Madison.

6....i picked 4 i really wanted to go to, decided that wasn't enough, so i made a piechart out of the schools that didn't require supplemental applications, threw darts at it, and picked 2 more! (i'm a huge dork, i know)

1!! And its my first choice! I was going to apply next year but I found out that the deadline to apply was February, not Fall like other schools. It's a tough shot but I've got my fingers crossed!

I only applied to WSU because I knew it was the school for me and I wanted to stay in the Northwest. I didn't want to apply elsewhere and have to potentially pay to travel and interview at schools that I really wasn't interested in. If I wouldn't have gotten in though, I probably would have applied to more schools the next year.

I applied to 9 schools. I was originally only going to apply to six but my advisor told me to include other mid-west schools. I applied to Tufts, Cornell, UPenn, Ohio State, Purdue, PEI ( my original six) and added Illinois, Minnesota, and Iowa. I was rejected from Illinois and Minnesota, withdrew from Iowa and PEI, wailisted at Cornell, accepted at Ohio, Tufts, and UPenn, and still waiting to hear from Purdue. So I apparently shouldn't have taken my advisor's advice--I got rejected from two of the schools he told me to add and withdrew from the third!

I was under the impression that most schools allow you to use public speaking in place of one writing class...is this an incorrect assumption?

Some schools do allow you to use public speaking to fulfill a composition course. In my case there were some schools that specifically required public speaking which I have not taken and do not intend to take.

I applied to 12. Trying to increase my odds. I really didn't want to have to reapply. It was a lot of work but it paid off I have a few options.🙂

I already replied to this thread saying I applied to 1 in-state and 2 out of state schools. I was originally comfortable with this number. But... after getting all my responses back with two alternates and one rejection, if it comes around that I have to reapply next year, I would increse my numbers slightly. I would stay with my instate but after gathering all the info on this site and doing more research- I think I would increase to 5 or 6 to play the odds a little better, but still keep it in reach financially.

Rejected from Colorado, wait-listed for interview at Tufts (then rejected), interview at UCD & currently waiting their decision

If I don't get in, I'll definitely apply to more schools next year, but I'm really hoping Davis comes through😍

I applied to three: accepted to Massey's pre-vet semester (deferred until 2008 pending my other school decisions, then later declined); accepted at Kansas; interview at Glasgow (which I cancelled as soon as I got into KSU). Didn't apply to my state school because they had already rejected me twice and I went to undergrad there. Congrats class of 2011 and good luck to class of 2012 applicants! 🙂

This is my first year applying to vet school and I applied to 9 schools: Davis, Oregon, Washington, Purdue, Minnesota, Louisiana, Colorado, U Penn, and Western. I only got an interview for Western and I am on the alternate list.

I have no regrets applying to that many schools. It doesn't hurt to try.

uh......well, catcrazy, I am having SUCH a hard time! There are things at each that I really liked soooo much - this is killing me! (I really don't want to be one of "those" people who "sits" on a decision, because I know this makes those on waitlists have to wonder...)I just found out about LSU yesterday, and need to research it more! I can say that I had been leaning towards either Mississippi or Minnesota though!

Take your time -- it's great to have choices. I guess you'll probably end up warm (Mississippi) or freezing (Minnesota)!
