How many schools do applicants typically apply to? Lets say you apply to 12, some in state and others out, how many interviews/acceptances are you likely to get...if you have solid stats (3.7, 30)?

Depends on ECs, what state you live in. In terms of instate applications ...If your in introvert and CA applicant (very low chances). If you live in Texas and are an extrovert (very high chances) and many other states too...For out of state applications...you are bound to get at least 1 IMHO with those stats.

All i know is my stats...friends at my school have applied more some less....I applied to 20, interviewed 12, so far 1 accept, 2 waitlist, and 4 no interview rejections. Stats: 35, 3.69
