How many schools did you all apply to?
What is a good number to be kind of sure (at least a little) that you will get in somewhere? As long as you apply early? (with a bachelors degree, over 3.0 gpa, good pcat, and pharm experience) for instance

what is good pcat score?

I haven't taken it yet, but I am going to take a Kaplan prep course, so I expect, pray, and G-d Willing hope to get over 80% on everything. (I am really good at english so that part will most likely not be a problem)😀

(Also, I am an RA at my school (2 years)..)

I applied to 12........that's alot. Apply early in the process.

Apply to six and earlier!!!!!. I only apply to two and got accepted to both.

i only applied to one. i would strongly recommend against that. i think you should apply to at least three.

Ditto. I applied to one, got in, but I wouldn't do that. I would do as many as you can. I only did one, because I am cemented at my location.. wife and kids. 🙂

I applied to 5 schools this year.

I applied to 2 schools, got into 1 of them. I would recommend applying to at least 3, leave your options open. Personally for me I did not want to leave the Northwest so that limited options.

I applied to 4 schools. I interviewed at one school, and after my acceptance I turned down two other interviews and withdrew my application from one more school.

I think that the number of schools to apply to depends on your stats. If you have very good GPA, PCAT, pharm experience, etc., you can apply to few schools. However, if your stats are average or on the lower end, you might want to apply to more schools.

Not all people have the financial means to pay for all of those apps, though. I could barely get the $60 for the WVU app together, let alone the hundreds I'd need to apply to every school on the planet.

If you are limited, apply to your public state school.

I was going to apply to a lot - but ended up only paying to apply to one 🙁

I am on the Alt. list with a high number - so there is still hope. If you are unsure - or even nervous about it. More is better - Acetyl applied to 5 schools - and his stats are awesome...

Applying to more schools now may cost more - but the cost is irrelevant over time.

I applied to one on a whim and got accepted. I actually was not going to apply until 2008, because I thought all pharmacy schools require you to finish your prerequisites by the spring semester. Then I was talking to someone in my chem 2 class in fall 2006 and he said he was applying for fall 2007, and I'm like, how are you going to do that? That's when I found out that USN lets you take classes over the summer. I hurried up and sent in my application, and I couldn't believe it when I got the acceptance call! I thought I had way too many classes to finish, and I didn't think I did too well on my interview. If I hadn't applied this year, I had about five schools on my list that I was going to apply to for fall 2008.

I applied to 6, 1 rejection and 1 interview, but i applied on the last possible day. So if there is a next time, I will definitely apply early next time.

Applied to one as ED. Got in.

my advise

1. Early bird ya di ya da the worm. Get everything done by the end of Aug.
2. ED to the school that fit your stats and needs.
3. Apply to non pharmcas schools as ED will not allow you to apply to
pharmcas school untill after Nov or ED school acceptance/rejection.
4. If rejected by ED school you still have plenty of time to apply to other
pharmcas schools.
5. Retake PCAT if need to.
6. Juice your GPA by taking some easy elective.
7. Get some pharm experience.
8. When all else fail bribes work.👍

I applied to 5 schools. Probably better to increase your chances than to end up waiting an additional year to start making a full salary.

i applied to about ten and got eight interview requests, turned down a couple of them. now im broke. seriously though, APPLY EARLY.

I have good stats but I was so paranoid. So I applied to 6. Shenandoah, Wingate, Mercer, UMB, Pittsburgh, and VCU. Most of them were on the east coast so the travel fees weren't as bad. Got accepted at Shenandoah, Wingate, and UMB.

An hour before my plane ride to Atlanta for Mercer, the plane canceled. It turned out that there was no flights out of DC until Saturday afternoon (my interview was suppose to be on Friday). And no, there was no storm outside; there was a storm a few days before which booked all future flights. So I decided it must be fate I couldn't go to Mercer. Called them and declined my interview.

Pittsburgh and VCU never called me. I would be sad about it, except UMB was my first choice ^^

I applied to 4 schools... Shenandoah, Wingate, Mercer, Maryland and was offered interviews at each one. I'm still waiting on a decision from Mercer, but I got into Shenandoah, which was my first choice. I declined interviews at Wingate and Maryland.

I think they recommend applying to anywhere between 5 and 8 schools. I agree with everyone when they say to apply early I applied at the beginning of October and thought that would be early enough, but my stuff from PharmCAS seemed to take forever to get through because everyone was applying at that time.

applied to 7.

maryland, howard, midwestern ccp, shenandoah, pittsburg, touro, UWV.

Interviewed at Maryland and Midwestern, accepted to both.

I declined the interviews for UWV and Touro.

Never heard from howard or shenandoah, not sure why.
