AAAAARGH!!! I broke my own advice, and went back and REread my app after submitting it. Although I double, triple, quadruple checked everything, SOMEHOW, I managed to write EMERGECY Medicine in the title of one of my jobs. Growl. Anybody else care to vent about a typo? (I also hate my entire PS, and wish I could just redo that whole darn thing, but cest la vie)

couple classes mis-classified, couple late class additions not marked as pass/fail, and a volunteer experience that slipped my mind but is kinda significant. sigh.

For one of my secondaries, I supposedly proof-read it... Yeah, so the night before the interview, I was reviewing the secondary essays and found MULTIPLE spelling and grammatical errors. 😱 "Istitute" instead of "Institute," forgot to add prepositions at a couple of places...

I freaked out momentarily and couldn't believe I had done such a poor job and sort of lost some confidence for my interview.

But a month later I was accepted and a few months after that I actually got a scholarship from them!

So, don't sweat the small stuff. Look at the big picture, rock your interview, and keep letting the schools know you're interested. 👍

THREE TYPOS in my personal statement!!!!11 They all occured when I actually typed the thing from Word into AMCAS, because I'd heard rumors about it goofing up if you copy and paste (and this was well before I had been exposed to SDN). They were really stupid typos, too. I was pretty sick about it at the time.

None but that's only because I had three other people check it for typos and grammar. If I hadn't, I would have had 4 errors that I kept missing. It's funny how your brain atoumcitalaly croercts for teshe tihngs. 😀

Found three typos. Two of them were the same-"Chemsitry"

Still got into med schools. I bet one if not all of my interviewers had typos on their applications back in the day. 😛

Best of Luck!

I took dual credit in highschool, and accidentally entered in the wrong dates for when I took the classes. I entered the time frame according to what was listed on the transcript at my current university, and didn't realize the mistake until I submitted and was looking at the actual transcript from that school. Oops....I was only a semester off, but it will not let me go back and change the dates that I listed for attending that college. We'll see what trouble I've gotten myself into when AMCAS tries to verify my application.

I have one typo in my personal statement. I put "is" instead of "it."

I didn't go back and check, so I have zero. Yay for me.

I hadn't gone back to read any of my AMCAS because I didn't want to find mistakes! But then I had to send a paragraph of my PS to my pre-med committee, and when I read the email and that paragraph I was kicking myself because there was a change I would have wanted to make. I mean, I wasn't reading the darn thing for that exact reason! We just have to forget about it, since there's nothing we can do now.

I'm just not going to look at my AMCAS again until right before interviews.

Haven't looked at my PS in over a month. I don't think I have any typos though - that's something I don't usually do. I did misclassify a few courses though - put some 2004's as 2003's or something.

That was my plan, but Yale's secondary wants you to highlight your most important activities from the AMCAS, so I went back and pulled a few things. Their examples were really terse though, so all I said was the activity, my position in that activity, and the dates I was involved (Shadowed Dr. Smith, general surgeon, 03/2003).

Right before I hit submit I found a few stupid things like "Managment" and "Uinversity"

This is totally OCD but I printed the app and then copied and pasted the entire pdf file into word to spell check.. The only thing I've found wrong post-submit is that I got the end date of one college wrong but hopefully nobody will notice..
