Hello, I'm finishing my masters after completing my bachelors of nursing (Im a RN). Now the courses i am doing right now are pre-reques for medical school, such as calculus and vectors and physics. My questions is from my school record (including my nursing school and completing these pre-reques coures) how many years of schooling will the medical schools I apply to look at when calculating my GPA? I did't do well the first 2 year of nursing but 3rd and 4th year I had a 3.9 GPA.

I was told they only look at my last 2 most recent years of schooling?

thanks

This is a site for American medical schools. If you're specifically aiming for Canadian medical schools, you should use premed101.com (the Canadian equivalent of SDN)

You have to check with each school individually since they all seem to do it differently.

As others have mentioned, it depends on each school. Some schools like UBC look at all the post secondary courses that you've taken, whereas uOttawa for instance only looks at your last three years, I believe.

This is correct, check out each school's website (there aren't that many of them).

You're right though, there are some that only look at your 2 most recent years. Doing an extra year or two could open a lot of doors for schools that look at 3 or if your cGPA would get bumped up enough for others.

Also check out premed101.com it's the Canadian equivalent of SDN

edit: Be sure to check out how the years are weighted as well, @AAAmeds is right that UofO looks at your 3 most recent, but your most recent year is worth 3x your 3rd most recent. You'll have to pull out your calculator and transcripts
