For those who had interview invites, how far in advance did you get the invite? Like 2 weeks? a month? next week?

I'd like to know so I can plan my somewhat depressing holiday season of not having any interviews.

According to interview.gov, about 350

I think schools with only a week's notice would mostly be IS and even then I think it's possible to reschedule them if the timing doesn't work out. Some schools have them scheduled a month or few months in advance.

It totally depends. Usually earlier on (say, up through December or so), you'll have a wide range of dates to pick from. Once the new year rolls around, schools start giving less and less time and you may end up only having dates in the next week or so.

I could've scheduled a couple of my interviews same week I got my invite (one is in the same city I live in and another is at a different state) but I didn't. My other ones were a few weeks to more than a month in advance. It's just a matter of which days are open when I got my invite.

I completely understand that from the school's perspective, but man that's tough for an interviewee.

I have interviewed within 3 days of receiving an invite, and 5 months of receiving an invite.

Also note that some schools schedule a date for you, and some allow you to preference dates but ultimately put you where you fit the schedule.
