I had three interviews (pre-december) so far and I am really excited to hear back from them on December 1st.
My top choice is NYU, which I had an interview on november 1st.
The thing is I am not doing so well in my classes right now..
I am taking only two classes and I am kind of struggling with them..
Would I be okay even if I get C's on them?
I know i won't get C for both of them, but it seems like I will get C and B for those two classes..
How much do these grades matter if I get accepted on december 1st?
Will they take back my acceptance?

dont quote me on this, but from last year's post, I remember that you need to maintain a 3.0. Can someone second that?

I think you're fine as long as you get a C or above in any pre-req classes that you may be taking/still have to take.

Many says your GPA can get you the interview, but what happens after the interview? If you somehow got an interview with low stats and aced your interview, does GPA still matter?

I am taking Biochem right now and for the first time I have come to the conclusion that getting a B will be ok. For one the class is one giant manipulative game where the teacher has favorites and ridiculous class structure--and second, i just don't care anymore. My big mistake was warning the teacher that I would be away from some classes throughout the semester because of dental school interviews, and ever since then I feel that he thinks I don't care about his class and that I am ready to move on. For a few months I was thinking "I should get an A because I will have to take Biochem in dental school, so I might as well learn the material the first time." After working my butt off this semester and still coming up short, I've decided that it's a fluke and just to let it roll off my shoulders. B's get degrees!

In answer to your question, I don't think they would take back an acceptance as long as you got above a C in prerequisite classes.

While I agree B's (C's for that matter) get degrees, shoot for excellence because in the 'off' chance you don't get in this year...

I'm not saying, I'm just saying...;-)

I heard some specialty programs look at undergrad degrees too. Better safe than sorry.

I was told by the schools advisors during a couple of my interview that you needed at least a C or better in any pre-requisites you had left. I was told from students they didn't care at their school about your grades as long as it was C or better.

What if you already fulfilled all your pre-reqs for dental school but still fulfilling requirements to get a degree? All my upper level bio's I'm taking this semester are kicking me in the butt, I think it's cause I have senioritis and so close to hearing back. How bad would it look if I got C's in all of them?

I am in the same exact situation. i am hoping for just a B in my biochem class! Hell I'll take a C+!

Add me to the list of people taking Biochem right now! I've never gotten anything lower than a B- in any of my classes, so I'm really just trying to stay at least within a B right now. It's interesting that the consensus is "C's = retain acceptance" because I always thought it was B's or better...

But I agree with bennydental. Trying to shoot as high as I can so even if I don't get there, I won't be that far off 😛

Well, the class Im worried about getting C is not a pre-requisite course for dental school. It's just an upper biology course to get a B.S. Biology degree from my undergrad.
So.. would C hurt at all?
