No idea about the cities you mentioned, but my DH is in vascular surgery in Milan and he works about 12 hours a day and is on call one day per week then once every 3 weekends. They do at-home call. Obviously if there is an emergency, they stay until they have to. But in 3 years he has only come home after midnight a handful of times.
But it's also different for each hospital. We have friends who are in Cardiology and his SO who is in Peds and neither of them do weekend calls. Ever. It's incredible really.
Mind you, residents make peanuts here so most have 2nd jobs moonlighting.
All the attendings at my DH's hospital work A LOT less.
