I'm searching AAMC site and comparing it with numbers I got elsewhere but they don't add up. Why is that? What are the real costs of attendance?

Close your eyes and pick a number between 1 and 5
Then add 5 zeros.

Tuition is the only concrete cost. It can be found easily more or less on med school websites. On the subjective side is your standard of living; house, condo vs. a van down by the river. For me at UMMC:

Tuition: 7200/year
Rent/Bills: 900/mo
Food/gas: 250/mo
extras: 100/mo

so about 22k per year. I'll probably take out about 25k in loans to cover any unforseen costs.

How much does it cost? TOO MUCH! But that's the price you pay...
