Say you took the exam twice and your highest score was a 33, that would mean each point cost $16.67 [($225 x 2)/33]. Whereas someone who took the exam once and got a 29, each point cost $7.76.

It cost me $20.37 for each of my points! Each $20 bill in my wallet (not to many - damn secondaries) was a point - that's 4 five dollar foot longs, or dominos 2 Large 1 Topping Pizza and a 2-Liter cola (farva special), or 20 draft beers at my local bar's dollar draft night (best deal 👍)

Writing score not included.

You could even further the calculation by including all money spent on prep materials for a truer picture of the "actual" cost per point. Warning: the sum might scare you

Good point, lets see:

Examcrackers: Verbal101 + Bio1001 + Chem1001 + OChem1001 + Phys1001 = $116

Kaplan Book = $80

MCAT Guide = $25 (not very useful)

AAMC Exams 3-10 = $245

GS CBT = $250 (Still have access/PM)

Yeah, per point cost comes to $46.89 = (roughly) Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach 1-day adult pass at Disney World or 8.5 pints of hagen das cookie dough and vanilla ice cream (no chocolate chip!).

My life would be filled with Disney World and cookie dough ice cream.

In hindsight, I shouldn't have purchased the MCAT Guide, Examcrackers Phys and Ochem, and all GS CBTs (maybe just 1-4 and 8).

I love your interpretations of $20.

Mine, counting test registration, one Princeton Review book off Amazon, and 2 AAMC practice tests (fortunately I got a box of free MCAT stuff from someone who'd taken it the year before), works out to be $9.26. About four gallons of gas, as of last time I filled up. That's about 136 miles of freeway driving...hmm, where can I get in 136 miles?

Or 4 bottles of Barefoot wine. I'll pick that option.

Even if you add in writing score somehow, it's not too bad because I sucked up the writing section so horribly😀

Examkrackers complete study guide: $110
EK 101: $27
Kaplan Course: $1500!!!

Scoring a 40... priceless 😀

Congrats on your 40, but did the kaplan course helped out all? In other words, do you think you could have gotten a 40 without the course. IF you studied by yourself would you have been able to pull a 40. I am skeptical about the kaplan course I dont think it does that much to improve one's score.

In my opinion, the Kaplan course definitely helped me.I started with a 24 diagnostic and ended up scoring a 39. The availability of the teacher was really nice, as there were times I didn't quite understand a concept and they were able to help me with it. Outside of that, the depth and difficulty of their practice tests, even though the real thing is much more simple, made the real test seem simple. The only thing I would watch out for is the curve is much more lenient than the real thing due to the level of difficulty, so I took 4 practice AAMCs as my last 4 tests before the exam. (So you can get used to making sure you don't make "dumb" mistakes.)

Edit: Also, I forgot to mention that I didn't use anything besides Kaplan (I didn't find out about these board until I was almost done studying). I do kind of wish I found about the EK 101 verbal passages book prior to studying. (The Kaplan strats for VR just waste time.)
