MD & DO How much of a jump is considered decent for the MCAT?

Well you went from about a 21 to a 24. So your score remains uncompetitive for MD and really low for DO. And there is also the issue that the 494 will still be visible on your records. And some schools average. So for those schools then your score would be about a 496. How are your GPAs? How about your ECs?

No. You're still in lethal territory.

Do you have test taking anxiety? If so, get that fixed before even thinking about MCAT again.

Also, do NOT take the exam unless you are 100% ready for it.

I would like to see a 15 point jump from you. For the median applicant, a 10 point jump is impressive.

I recently took my MCAT for a second time, and my score went up from a 494 (Sept 2015) to a 498 (Jan 2016). I know that my scores are not outstanding, and I am not aiming for top tier schools at all, knowing that they are out of scope. However, is this 4 point jump okay??

How much of a jump between MCAT retakes is decent to see?
