I have been studying physiology from the EK book, and it's been difficult for me. Physiology is about 50% of the entire EK biology book. Is this ratio same for the biology section on the MCAT? I've heard in recent mcats physiology is only a small portion of biology.

Judging from https://www.aamc.org/students/download/85566/data/bstopics.pdf there's a good bit of physiology. Metabolism, Nervous/Endocrine Systems, Circulatory/Lymphatic and Immune Systems, Digestive/Excretory System, Muscle/Skeletal Systems, Respiratory System, Skin System, Reproductive System and Development, are all topics listed.

A lot of Bio is up to reading the passage and whether you can interpret the info effectively. You also will need some background knowledge of the stuff so yeah, you will definitely get physio on the real thing.

I definitely found that having a decent grasp on concepts in physiology helps. A lot of the passages incorporate physiologic systems to test other concepts (physics in a biological context, for example), but still being familiar with those systems helps you get through the passage and digest what the questions are getting at.

I felt like physiology was always the bulk of the bio section (took mcat twice), and having a good understanding of it allowed me to score 11's and 12's. Without physiology knowledge, I'd be screwed.
