This cracked me up, so I figured I'd share it as a learning opportunity for others.
I had a pre-dental student (UC Berkeley) contact me a few months ago and ask to shadow me (my office is a 10 min drive from campus, I get a LOT of students shadowing me because of my background). As always, I had the intention of saying yes I invited the student for an interview first. Everything went well - no experience in the dental office, good grades, well put together.
BUT! At the end, I was asked how much would I be paying this student to shadow/assist me...when I explained that shadowing is typically a non-paid position and a favor for the student, she was veeeery confused....whatever you do, don't be that person
