I couldn't submit my application until either very close to deadline or on the day of deadline. Although I can list a lot of reasons why I am doing that but I know that I could always submit it a little earlier if I desperately wanted to.

As a big wish for the new year, I REALLY, really, want to change this bad habit. It makes me feel guilty and regretful and afraid of the consequences. And I know that some consequences of late submissions may have already shown.

I am wondering if you have any suggestions for changing this habit. I have read some suggestions on internet but don't quite help me. To be specific, whenever I feel tired of work I go on internet. And I feel that I am less concentrated than before. Sometimes luckily I can be "distracted" and focus on my work a little longer but a lot of times I always remember to go back to internet or get rest after not a long time of work.

I start to think that this is something that I must change. But I am not sure if I can change or how. Thus, I would like to post it here before the new year comes and hopefully I have something to start working on. 😡 Thanks and happy new year everyone.

Do you live with someone else? If so take the following steps:

1. Unplug ethernet cable from your computer.
2. Give cable to other person with instructions not to return it until agreed upon time.
3. Enjoy not having the internet!

This method is 100% guaranteed to prevent you from goofing around online on that computer.

If you live alone check out http://macfreedom.com/, also works with Windows.

Thanks.
I live by myself and this software is really helpful. I am trying out the practice version now.
I have been searching for something similar to leechblock after changing to Mac computer but didn't find any. This Macfreedom is the best I find so far.

If you have a mac, there's an extension of google chrome similar to leechblock. It's called Chromenanny, and you can find it in the Chrome web store. I've found it helpful for blocking specific sites that tend to be timewasters....so long as you're okay with using Chrome, it's great!

I have firefox on my mac and can use leechblock with it. But as long as Safari is there I don't think I can stick to other browsers without trying to click Safari. It will be great if I have something similar to leechblock on Safari. Or is there any way to inhibit the use of safari for a while?
