How often are you logging into your portal accounts?

I applied to 20+ schools and most of them have an online portal system. I've been trying to check all of these accounts 1-2x a week just to see if my status changed. I know that interview invites usually come in the form of an email, but sometimes there are technical glitches and whatnot so I'd rather keep checking myself. Just wondering what the general consensus is.

I know how you feel....its different for every school, most schools do not update their portals regularly so there is a high chance that you would get an email before the status change....also a word of advice : keep checking your junk folder, most of my II went straight to junk lol...best of luck, m sure you will hear back soon!

Thanks! I have been checking my spam folder... so far, only CASPer emails seem to have gone in there lol.

I haven't checked once... I feel like that would just make me more anxious. I'm working on just getting through all the secondaries. Once that happens, I might start checking more neurotically.

You might want to check just to see if you forgot to pay a fee or if they're missing one of your LORs or something... I'm really glad I checked because I almost missed submitting a secondary... Even with my spiffy-looking Excel spreadsheet, I completely forgot about this one school lol. When I did my weekly check, I discovered I had already paid and written everything in the form, but had failed to certify and submit. Just a heads up to those who need to be more scrupulous!

Interesting. I think I'll check once all the secondaries are out, but I got an email confirmation after each school that I applied to so far, so I think I'm good.

Also @gannicus89 , is your name inspired perchance by the show Spartacus?

Indeed it is. I only signed up to ask a WAMC question, totally did not expect to stay on. Now I regret the name lol. Wish I had chosen Voldemort or something.

Yeah, similar story over here. First real time using a forum, or otherwise I would have known to choose a shorter name. (like goro for instance)

What is a Goro anyways? Lol. The username + the cat picture always makes me think Gato first.

It is a great show! Was a nice change from Breaking Bad and Dexter.

To return to the OP, I never checked anything until I was sent an email stating my status was updated. Honestly, you are going to drive yourself nuts.
