I think you've already answered your question. Mostly early- and mid-20s, and some older/younger nontrads.

Mostly older. I don't see how there can be any consequential number of med students younger than "early 20s". You'll have a decent amount who are considerably older pulling the average and median ages up.

Don't know how you define "early 20s", but since the median age of matriculation is 23, that seems to be "consequential".
