Since I was unable to find this answer, how old is too old?

I am planning on buying a set of 2001/2002 PRE-CBT prep. for about $45. (TPR) I also have most of the AAMC, EK, prep. to supplement.

It includes everything from the course. I want to use it mainly to highlight-crazy and write in it.

Lets just say, I need something in front of me and don't really care for how I abuse the books.

We all know that most materials don't change between a few years, but due to the fact of the CBT, is 2001/2002 prep. sufficient at the price I will be getting it for and why do you think so?

What is the range you would stray off from if it got too old?

👍 for going highlighter-crazy!

I think it'd still be valuable to you, but I'd definitely also use other more recent books to supplement. Sure, a lot of stuff hasn't changed for hundreds of years, but the format did change some. My opinion is, if you have the time, using them can't hurt you. TPR is super detailed (or the more recent ones are), so maybe go through EK books and make sure there's nothing in the PR books that is no longer covered. But def. make sure you spend more of your time on the more recent stuff. And if there are any differences in the books, trust the more recent book.

$45 is a good price for the whole set. It has a lot of material and practice stuff.

I'd say too old would be pre-2000. That's like 10 years. Who knows what's changed since then?

Found the thread!

This thread is for checking the revisions from paper to CBT(computer based test).

I know that OChem has changed and some sections were reduced.

Does anyone know exactly what changed? (as in a comparison)

Yeah, I am tonight... normally, I would be doing something more productive... but it's my birfday! I do what I want today!!!!

As for the question. Some people advise stuff after the switch to CBT but I don't think it makes a difference unless you're doing full length practice tests. But again you can probably figure out the time needed by proportions.

I think the material if you know the pre-cbt stuff you are pretty much knowledgeable about the stuff on the CBT.

HBD 😛!
