Haven't applied yet, but hopefully will do so around 22.
I don't mean to be rude, but are there any older people (36+) in your class?
Applied, accepted, attending at 20. I've got til October before my birthday.

A shame you'll be spending your 21st birthday studying for tests the next month straight![]()
My birthday's on a Saturday (which I've known for some years now). Game on.
I envy the ones that are getting in at 19/20.😡![]()
I can see that. Although, I wouldn't be willing to trade my undergraduate experience or my work experience for it through. The friends, the network, the life, it's all part of how I wanted to build up my world and it keeps growing.
There were at least two people at my interview that were probably over 65 (maybe a lot older...it can be hard to tell)!28 when I start, 32 when I graduate. I'm genuinely surprised there are so many older/non-traditional students going into Pharmacy. Perhaps the sample is too specific (limited to SDN folks).
Most schools I have looked at the average age of acceptance have been 22-25. So there must be quite a few younger students to outweigh the 36+ category.

Really. I was quite surprised, myself.Really?😕

Maybe they can afford it without debt, but I was thinking there might be more relaxing ways to spend your time. Still, some people just love to learn, no matter their age! More power to them! Not promoting ageism here, but why start professional school when you are nearing retirement? Can you imagine the debt they will incur at such an, umm, older age (I guess😳)?

I am the youngest and there are people in their 40's in my class with the majority of students in their mid 20's.
I only applied to one school.

It really isn't that rare. I know 10-15 people who got in at 20 and one at 19. I think it's just that the average age on these forums is a bit higher than the average age of people actually going to pharmacy school.Applied and accepted at 20, but that's a rarity these days. I think they're pushing the average to 22+ (post bach). Any word on this becoming official for all schools? I know Ohio State requires an undergrad degree.
I've got to say, I think I'd look twice at pharmacy at that age, because the cost of school keeps going up and the job prospects seem to be going down (for now, at least). Is there a way you could study a different type of engineering? That might be a much quicker and less expensive path to a more stable job...as a personal aside, a family member retired from engineering many years ago and still gets recruitment letters to come work.My best case scenario
Current age 56
Age at applicaton 59
Age at acceptance 60
Age at completion 64
and this is not kidding, it's for real. I'm an engineer in telecommunications and it's a dead end industry. I'm the sole support for myself and husband and need a new career. I am also pretty active (marathoner) and a good student, but it's an uphill battle for sure.
