This is by far my biggest weakness. 2 weeks ago, I gave UWSA 1 and got 228; today I gave UWSA 2 and I got 242; the problem on both tests? STAMINA! I am dead after 2 blocks and I barely have the energy to read through the looong question bodies, and do the multi-step thinking required. A lot of the questions I got wrong was because I just wasnt able to use my mind properly, although 8 times out of 10 I could have gotten it right with a fresh mind.

I dont mind it too much on Self-assessments, but this could really hurt me in the real thing. Any advice on how I stay fresh through the long long long test and minimize errors due to an exhausted brain? A can of Red Bull after every block perhaps?

My friend drank a can of red bull after every block and walked out saying he wish he hadn't since he felt it made him very jittery throughout the exam and took away from his focus. From what I've heard around school, most people feel that their focus and stamina increases tremendously once they have the exam adrenaline running through their veins. For now, the only way to increase stamina is to keep doing questions and trying your best to focus!

Do 1 or 2 more practice tests, and you'll get used to it. On exam day, adrenaline will pull you through! During the exam, I always took at least 10 min break after every 2 blocks. That helped me unwind before I went back in for the next block.

And don't worry. I felt the same way you did. I was always exhausted after each practice exam. It's due to the fact that I didn't take breaks during the practice exams and just blasted through them. You'll be fine. Everyone makes it through.

10 minutes after every block? I heard we have around 45 minutes of break-time and we could distribute it however we want, yeh, so someone told me I should do 3 blocks, then take the whole 45 minute break to unwind.

"every 2 blocks"

Also, if you don't do the tutorial, you have 1 hour total for break.

Any time you have left at the end of a block can be used as break time. I collected a few extra minutes each block, so I would just close my eyes and refresh in between each block with a bathroom/food break every couple blocks.

Practice makes perfect.

Ditto... Two 3rd-yrs at my school (both scored 240s) studied together, and they did 6-7 blocks once per week. They took the rest of the day off and spent the next day reviewing the questions. For example, if D-day was on a Tuesday and they had 6 weeks to prepare, they did those blocks each of the 5 Tuesdays before D-day.

They both told me that they felt ready to do more blocks if they had to after completing the exam.
