For all you guys living in the midwest and the east coast - how reliable is megabus.com? I've got an interview at UPenn on oct. 8 and Columbia on oct. 9 and i was thinkin of using megabus.com cuz of their $1 tickets - but this seems too good to be true for some reason. Has anyone ever used megabus? good? bad? cant complain for the money? any thoughts would be helpful, Thanks!

I heard that it's much better than Greyhound (greyhound is NOT reliable).

I haven't taken it myself, but I've heard only good news from my friends who took it.
But it's only $1 if you book at least a couple months in advance. But don't quote me on that one.
If you choose Megabus, make sure you get there at least a day or two early, in case of delays.👍

👍 I travel between NY and DC all the time. Reliable, clean, good service. Im going to Boston with the 1 dollar special.. now ordering my ticket to Philly too lol. There's also Boltbus (also 1 dollar special) and various chinatown (Today bus, New Century.. u can google them easily) buses (I think round trip between Philly and NY is around 15 bucks.. consider it if the megabus schedule doesn't work out). Good luck!

i looooooove megabus! i took it for the first time last month going from nyc to boston, though i didn't get the $1 special. but still, $10 each way isn't bad at all. and it left right on time, and was right outside penn station! and FREE WIFI! how could you go wrong? one of my friends takes megabus and bolt all the time. just try to avoid doing stuff over the phone because changing/ordering tickets there costs and extra 3 bucks. but yes, it's too good and too true lol.

spring break this past year my friends and i were able to score (either bolt or mega, i forget) FREE reservations from boston to ny, and all it cost us was the 50 cent reservation fee. i know i sound like some kind of rep from there, but i was just so happy to find an alternative to greyhound. that sucked.
