How reliable is the wait list?

I've been placed on the wait list for some good schools. Whats the percentage of applicants wait list accept? Should I just deposit for a state school or pass the deposit deadline and risk not getting in anywhere?

Also can you double deposit if you get accepted into the wait list school?

they make you give a deposit for the wait list? what if they don't take you, do you get your money back? That sounds pretty sketchy.

Actually they say they will *notify* you of their decision of your acceptance by June 1. And that is well past the deadline(May 1) of the other (less competitive) schools which already accepted me.

So if I don't deposit, I could risk going nowhere next year.

But if I do deposit, I might regret missing out of the chance to go to a better school.

Help!

zerox....the 1st school i got into...gave me only 2 weeks time for a deposit...so i sent a deposit...and then I got into the school i wanted to go to...so i sent a deposit there as well....so you should go ahead and send a deposit to the one you have been accepted too...if you get into a more competitive and favorable school later...you can accept their offer....yeah wastes abit money...but safeguards your year...and that is more imp. than money.... 😉
