I was working through the KA videos and I worked rather well with the videos. I've been mainly using Kaplan books for my studying/review and KA as a supplement but following this realization, I've been considering using KA as my main study source and Kaplan as a supplement but I'm rather hesitant since I don't know if the KA videos are representative of the knowledge that I'll need on the MCAT. So would using KA as my main source still prepare me as adequately as the other 3rd party review books?

In terms of problem practice, I will be using UWorld Qbank, and the NS + AAMC FLs after I finish reviewing/self teaching myself some material that I'm shaky on.

I was considering using Khan Academy to start reviewing topics before even completing pre-reqs so that when the topics come up in the courses, I'll be able to make the connection.

Anyone thing it's a bad investment of time and effort? (this is in the gaps between semesters )

It completely depends on the topics and subjects. Their videos range from excellent and very helpful to off-the-mark and out of the scope. Make sure you reference the AAMC's MCAT study guide, so you don't watch material that is not actually tested.

They are the best kept secret for CARS, and I'm surprised more people don't use them for that. They are very good at delivering the basics and the nuances of many topics in BS. Their PS is good, albeit a little dated in that the sociology component is not quite as large as it could be. IMHO, though, I feel they come up short on the area of CP.

Khan academy was a great resource during content review and their CARS passages are fantastic IMO. It's one of the best free resources for content review and especially if you're like me and enjoy videos more than reading a textbook.

I scored a 520 (131 cars).
