Hey all,
Currently preparing to apply to SMPs for this upcoming 2020-2021 cycle, and am taking the MCAT this mid-March since Ik many require it. Though I’m making progress, I’m also thinking about delaying the test date till mid-April as I’m not going quite as quickly as I’d like.

I was wondering, given that many of these programs’ applications have already been open for a few months and that they close in the summer, and also given how early we should be applying for med school rolling admissions apps, do SMP programs fill up just as quickly, or is it worth taking an extra month to better prepare for MCAT (only take it when you’re ready and all that)?

If I stay the course and take MCAT in mid-March I’d send in applications as soon as the score came out, roughly mid-April, if not send it in earlier and ask them to hold for the MCAT score. Is me testing in mid-March and applying in mid-April already pretty late and I shouldn’t consider delaying, or is it worth taking that extra month to prepare more for the MCAT?

Also, this question is geared primarily towards the fill-rate of key SMPs such as GTown, UCinn, BU, etc., but if those are long gone then I guess I'm asking for all SMPs too.

If stats are a factor: cGPA 3.39, sGPA 3.13, strong ECs, LORs, etc.
