How screwed am I for taking pre-reqs at CC and not doing well first year at 4 year uni?

I took all my pre-reqs at CC except for Ochem, and had an overall CC GPA of 3.49. I transferred to 4 year UC and did well my first quarter (3.83, with an A in upper div genetics, B+ in Ochem 1A), but did worse the next two quarters (C's in upper div science classes, and C's in Ochem).

This summer I got straight A's in my upper div classes (Physio and Plant Bio in Summer) and in the fall got all A's in 3 upper div classes (micro, pharm, biodiversity). I plan to keep the trend of A's until spring this year, and will apply to dental schools. Bringing my sGPA to around a 3.45.

I always hear that taking pre-reqs at CC will put me at a disadvantage, but for most schools if I do well in my upper div sciences at uni, it will show I can handle it. Well....I kind of got too caught up in the lifestyle at uni for winter and spring 2015, and my grades suffered for it. So even though I'm doing well in sciences my last year at the 4 year, overall my grade record is all over the place and inconsistent.

My last saving grace to prove I can handle the sciences is if I kill the DAT with a >22AA, will this be restitution for my mistake of taking pre-reqs at CC and not doing well first year at uni?

Some schools will accept them, some won't.

Look up which schools accept CC credit (and up to how many credit hours worth).

Most schools frown at having prerequisites taken at a CC, even if they say they will be accepted. Substituting upper level courses in the same discipline taken at a 4 year can help, or you can also just repeat them at the 4 year. A couple of C grades won't ruin your chances but you may have to explain what happened.

Would scoring well on the sections you took at a CC validate your grades there? Or would schools still be skeptical and frown at them?

Play it safe and just either retake or substitute with upper level courses
