Hey y'all,

So I did an SMP program at a school and am on the their wait-list. I got a call today from someone in admissions I met through the program asking about how my cycle has gone, what I've been up to etc. and he was encouraging me to re-apply for the upcoming year. Should I just take this as I am not going to be accepted?

I am admitted to a DO program and very happy with that, I just want to start planning my life and find an apartment and such. Am I safe to move on or should I continue to wait twiddling my thumbs until an aneurysm forms and I die so I can stop worrying about it?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

If I were you I would just go to the DO program, that way you don't have to keep on worrying about planning your life. Think about it, you're one of the lucky few to be accepted into a US medical school! You'll have a more clear career path, housing situation, etc. if you just move on with the DO program too.

Congratulations on your acceptance and good luck in school, whichever one you choose to go to!

I love your sense of humor and feel that we would get along.

I suggest you take the DO then come back to SDN and infuse these threads with more sarcastic funnies.

I liked your avatars back when they were cute. Now they are not cute. Now they are sad. Please bring back the cute avatars. Thank you.

I would hold off. Waitlists move. That person may not have any idea of your waitlist chances.

OP may be coming up with a deposit deadline.
Yeah if there's a deposit deadline then take the bird in hand. Maybe an email to the waitlisting school to make them aware, because while there's likely not a ton of upside, there's no downside.

Already had to pay the deposit for the DO school so not super worried about losing that. Just trying to see if i can jump the gun and get things rolling because housing near my DO school is limited. I'm also like 90% sure that the reason im on the wait-list is from my undergraduate GPA (like a 3.2 for both) and MCAT (502) even though my grad grades were better I'm not sure they really care that much.
